What is a Heat Pump

Using reverse cycle technology, these systems introduce heat into a room instead of removing of it. Developments in technology have meant that the efficiency of these units allowed the most efficient heat pumps to potentially generate up to 5kW of heat energy for every 1kW of electrical power consumed**

An air to water Heat pump system works by extracting heat from the outside air and then transfers it inside by way of heat emitters. These include radiators, Under floor Heating and Fan Coil units. Using a refrigerant passing through the external coil, heat from outside is absorbed, then rejected into the water circuit inside the building to provide Space Heating and Domestic Hot Water. What’s more, the refrigerant flow can even be reversed during the warmer seasons, providing a cooling system for your building.

Energy Efficiency of Heat Pumps

The aforementioned efficiency means that you could spend as little as one fifth of what you would spend on a direct heater to run your air source heat pump** With a lifespan of around 20 years, you can enjoy this efficiency and versatile functionality for a long time, and with your system installed by the best and most knowledgeable engineers around you can be sure that all your specifications will be met.

Why choose an Air Source Heat Pump?

There are several benefits to choosing an Air Source Heat Pump for your heating needs. Firstly, they are highly efficient and can save you up to 50% on your heating bills compared to traditional heating systems. They also require very little maintenance, making them a hassle-free solution for heating your home or business. Additionally, they are environmentally friendly, producing fewer carbon emissions than traditional heating systems.

**This level of efficiency will only be achievable under certain conditions.
These include operating at lowest possible flow temperatures during milder ambient conditions. Typically Co-efficient of performance (COP) figures range between 3 and 5, depending on equipment, type of heat emitters (radiators or Underfloor heating) and system design. We will provide an estimated Seasonal COP (SCOP) calculation per annum during the design stage.
